All Things Canvas

From the Sea to the Mountains
The inspiration for All Things Canvas came from years of sailing and sewing canvas for my own sailboat.
Over the years, I observed the abuse (saltwater, sun, wind, and dirt) my fabric of choice, Sunbrella®, endured and resisted and it got me thinking about putting that same durability to use in fun and functional products.
For the past 17 years, I’ve been living in the western North Carolina mountains, near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This is where All Things Canvas is based and its products are conceived and constructed.
Fabric
Sunbrella is a 100% acrylic marine and awning fabric. Sunbrella features rich colors that are solution dyed so they can’t wash out. Plus, they resist fading and remain beautiful for many years. Sunbrella is breathable, water-repellent, and resistant to mildew and U.V. rays. (Read more about fabric and care.)

Construction
In order to create a superior product, I sew all the products on an industrial machine, which allows the use of high-quality thread.
Conception & Design
The Artisan Bag: I wanted a bag that was big with open pockets to make it easy to find tote-able items. No more guessing what item is in which closed-up pocket!
The Sling Bag: Designed for simplicity and security when travelling, The Sling Bag is streamlined so that it lies close to your body.
The Bucket Bag: Simply a fun bag! It has so many uses you can let your imagination go wild.
Little/Big Bag: Everybody wants a little bag, but some bags are just too little! I designed this bag to be big enough to hold a full-size wallet, sunglasses, eyeglasses, cell phone, and a other small items. Big in capacity, little in size.
The Carry All Bag: This bag is for the person who wants all there stuff packed on the inside. Clean and smooth on the outside. This is a large tote.
The Satchel Bag: A simple purse, designed with smooth clean lines on the outside and a large open interior to hold all your essentials.
Hats: I began designing hats when I couldn’t find one to fit. Here in the mountains, I needed a hat that was water-resistant and blocked the sun.
